How do we customise?

A Schlowy Custom Motorcycles usually starts off its life as a low kilometre pre-owned vehicle, usually a member of the BMW GS range, a KTM dual sport model or a Kawasaki KLR dual sport.

A little wear and tear is a most valuable asset in a mass produced product; it tells the story whether the individual motorcycle has what it takes. This allows sub standard parts and components to reveal their true quality. It highlights the settings, tolerances and efficiency of the various systems as they work together. With this knowledge, the Schlowy Customs team can get to work to turn the motorcycle into a hand assembled extreme-sport motor vehicle designed for extreme conditions.

Bike customisation
Our three phase approach
First phase
> The motorcycle is dismantled. This process eradicates all forms of compromise brought on by mass production
> The frame is then inspected and powder coated for durability.
> The engine is checked by Tony. Any parts that are suspect, worn or inferior are replaced.
> Particular attention is given to bolts, nuts, screws and other fasteners
Second phase
> Whole systems are removed, upgraded, repositioned and or replaced e.g. electrical, suspension, fuel, lighting
> Additional components are added to the existing system. These can be propriety Schlowy Custom accessories or various prestigious European and American brands
Third phase
> The client is given a chance to choose his own colour scheme and other design elements
>

This phase gives the motorcycle its appeal and attitude.

A Schlowy Customs motorcycle is not average, but neither are the conditions
under which it will operate.
